YÀN is a fine dining Cantonese restaurant on the 5th floor of the City Hall rooftop within the National Gallery Singapore. The restaurant’s Chinese character “宴” refers to “feast”.

Helming YÀN’s kitchen is Master Chef Chan Kung Lai. Born and raised in Hong Kong, the cradle and epitome of haute Cantonese cuisine, Chef Chan Kung Lai brings more than 20 years of culinary experience. Chef Chan believes that a good balance of wok hei (Cantonese for the “breath of the wok”) is the soul of a dish.

YÀN’s cooking philosophy reflects the core principles and discipline of traditional Cantonese cooking, offering up familiar flavours with modern day presentations. A strong focus is placed on the quality of ingredients and presentation; ensuring diners get both a gratifying meal and a visual feast. At YÀN, one will find themselves spoiled for choice with a comprehensive à la carte menu featuring hearty double boiled soups, live seafood, Cantonese roasts & dim sum, amongst others.
